Dehler buys Etap

The Sauerland, Germany-based yacht builder Dehler is purchasing the Belgian company Etap it was announced at the Dusseldorf boat show today. Etap, founded in 1979 by Norbert Joris, use the unsinkability label as one of their strong selling points.
Wilan van den Berg, main shareholder and CEO of Dehler said: "We are very proud to be taking over this traditional shipyard and this strong brand and are now able to further develop these in cooperation with Dehler."
Dehler will "fully main and continue to manage" the established Etap Yachting brands, and all staff will continue to be employed at the Etap site at Malle in Belgium.
Dehler, established in 1962, have built 21,000 yachts and quickly became one of Germany's most respected brands.
This is the company's first takeover since Buchanan Capital Partners became part of Dehler. More news in the April issue of Yachting World.
