In amongst the spectators
It made a change from the press boat which has pole position right by the starting box and follows the race up the course. Today I was with the throng of spectators, who stay put, or nearly put, for the whole race. I say nearly because contrary to what you might expect they do not anchor, instead the helmsman is kept busy jockeying for position and keeping an eye on the other boats close by.
Then once the race has started there is little to see. Luckily this spectator boat, MY Smooth Operations, had both a professional crew and TV and Virtual Eye below decks.
