 The
America’s Cup Jubilee was an extraordinary event, not just

APP Broadcast are producing the America’s Cup Jubilee Official
Film, an insider’s guide to the most spectacular regatta
of modern times.
APP Broadcast gained privileged access to the heart of the event
from exclusive interviews with Olin Stephens, Russell Coutts
and Bill Koch, John Bertrand and Dean Barker, to on board footage
from Endeavour, Australia II, GBR 52 as well as many other leading
boats.
On the Race Around the Island APP were in the air and afloat
at key vantage points, capturing the sight of Stealth steaming
around in near record time, the J Class dwarfing the fleet,
the replica of America rounding the Nab Light Vessel and the
massed fleet converging on the turning mark off The Needles.
There was the America’s Cup Jubilee Ball – more than
2,000 people entertained in the historical setting of Osborne
House, culminating in the Phillips Auction where Bill Koch fended
off all comers and bid £310,000 for 31 bottles of vintage
Hennessy cognac.
It was a vintage regatta and the Official Film will be vintage
stuff from the first moment the Maori dancers arrive at dawn
with the Cup itself to the final finishing gun when the Prada
sailors celebrate a breathtaking victory.
